You can bring your newborn baby to Saudi Arabia either with an on-arrival visa or by applying for the visa through the Saudi embassy. We have explained both of the procedures below.
Pre-Conditions
You can bring your newborn baby to Saudi Arabia only if all the below conditions are met;
- The child must be less than 12 months old.
- Both parents have a valid Iqama.
- The mother has a valid exit reentry visa.
On-Arrival Visa for the Newborn Baby
If you meet the above-mentioned pre-conditions, your child can get an on-arrival visa at any international airport in Saudi Arabia. Make sure that the mother is possessing the following documents with her;
Required Documents for the on-arrival visa
- Newborn baby’s birth certificate.
- Newborn baby’s vaccination card.
- Iqama copy of the parents.
- Passport copies of the parents.
- Valid Exit Reentry Visa of the mother.
Important Guidelines
- It is better to book the flight through Saudi Airlines or at least through any other airline of the Gulf as they know the rules to bring a newborn baby to Saudi Arabia on an on-arrival visa.
- Once you land in Saudi Arabia, the immigration officer will check the above-mentioned documents and stamp the passport.
- The visa is automatically linked with the father’s Iqama. In case the wife is a working lady, she can mention it to the Jawazat officer to link the visa of the newborn to her Iqama (optional).
- The on-arrival visa for the newborn baby is free.
- Apply for the Iqama of the newborn.
Applying for a Visa for the Newborn Baby
If you meet the above-mentioned pre-conditions, you can bring your newborn baby to Saudi Arabia by applying for a visa through the Saudi Embassy.
In order to do that, submit the following documents through an agent (Etimad in Pakistan) to the Saudi Embassy.
Required Documents
- Newborn Baby’s original passport.
- Newborn Baby Birth Certificate attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- Newborn Baby’s Vaccination Card.
- Newborn Baby’s 2 photos with a white background.
- Mother’s original passport.
- Mother’s valid exit reentry visa.
- Iqama copies of parents.
- Father’s passport copy.
- The complete address of the father’s employer in Saudi Arabia.
- Absher paper with Iqama expiry (both father and mother).

Important Guidelines
- You will have to pay a fee of around SR 100 to stamp the visa on the newborn baby’s passport.
- Once the visa is stamped, your child can travel to Saudi Arabia within the validity of the visa.
- Apply for the Iqama of the newborn.
Permanent Family Visa for newborn baby
If the mother has already stamped the permanent family visa on her passport and the child is born later, you will have to follow this procedure to stamp a permanent family visa for a newborn baby in Saudi Arabia.
- No need to apply for a new visa in Saudi Arabia.
- Submit a new application to the Saudi Embassy through an agent for stamping the newborn baby’s passport.
- Attach the mother’s passport where the permanent family visa is already stamped.
Family Visit visa for newborn baby
If the mother has already stamped the family visit visa on her passport and the child is born later, you will have to follow this procedure to stamp a visit visa for a newborn baby in Saudi Arabia.
