8 Things to do in the Odd Nights of Ramadan

As Ramadan has come and is now slowly nearing towards its end, the last 10 blessed nights of Ramadan are upon us. We shall give you a few useful tips to get the best out of Lailatul Qadr. 

Many Muslims wrongly believe that only the night of 27th Ramadan is Lailatul Qadr, however, this is just a misconception. The exact date of this Night of Power is unknown; however, it is known that it occurs in one of the last ten odd nights of the month of Ramadan. (21, 23, 25, 27, 29). Additionally, they shall be granted the same amount of good deeds for 1,000 months of worship. (83.3 years). 

1-Recite one Chapter of Holy Quran: You can read or listen to the Tafseer of the Surah Al Qadr; this will help you learn more about the amazing night. Considering unity of all Muslim brothers, we say that the blessed night can be ANY one of the last 10 days of this Holy Month.

If you recite one chapter of Quran on this night, you will get thawab as you have read that chapter for 30,000 days (1,000 months)

2-Perform Etikaf: It is best if you can spare the last 10 days of Ramadan for Allah and perform Etikaf. Keep in mind, one of these 10 nights is the night better than 1,000 months. You will get thawab of Etikaf of 30,000 days. Recommended: Procedure to Apply for Etikaf 

3-Pray 2 rakats of Salat-al-Tawbah every night and ask for forgiveness from the Almighty. You should repent upon your sins with the intention of never repeating them ever again.

Ask the Almighty Allah to grant you this Lailatul Qadr and to accept all the Ibaadat done by you. If you found these helpful, please share with your friends and family.

4-Donate at least SR 1: Try to donate at least SR 1 each odd night in charity. You will get thawab as you have donated SR 30,000.

5-Don’t miss Taraweeh during odd nights of last 10 days of Ramadan. All of us are sinful but if we get a chance to perform 8 or 20 Taraweeh, it is like performing 240,000 or 600,000 Taraweeh.

6-Recite all memorized chapters of Holy Quran: Recite at least all those small chapters of the Quran which you have memorized while driving or doing other chores of work. It will not take more than 10 minutes for an average man to recite them.

But these 10 minutes can be very heavy if you recite them during Lailatul Qadr. You should ideally choose the most comfortable place in your home or in the mosque, to worship Allah, as you will be able to spend a long time in a comfortable spot.

7-Make the most amount of Dua in your Sujood as possible, and hence elongating the Sujood. Ask Allah everything that you wish for in this world and the next.

8-Spend some time with your parents if they are alive, be gentle with them. Be gentle with the domestic workers and everyone in your home. Out of His mercy, the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) has declared the reward of an accepted Hajj for just looking at parents with love.
