Islamic Meaning: Seeing a Garden in a Dream

Seeing a garden in a dream could have many meanings per Islam, depending upon the garden’s condition. We have explained it below;

1- In dreams, a garden represents one’s wife, according to Prophet Daniyal عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ. The garden’s fruits symbolize her money, dresses, and jewels; the trees’ trunks represent her weight and silhouette; their height corresponds to her life span, and the garden’s area symbolizes her comfortable livelihood.

2- According to Ibrahim Karmani رحمة الله عليه, a 16th-century scholar of Islam, if a sick man sees himself in a garden, it means that he will die soon.

Watering Plants

3- According to Ibn Sirin رحمة الله عليه, the most incredible dream interpreter of Islam, if a man sees that he is watering the plants in a garden, then it means that he will have intercourse.

4- However, if the plants are dried even after getting water in a dream then it shows that he has unfulilled sexual desires.

5- Dreaming of someone else watering your garden may signify betrayal by that person with your spouse. In other words, your partner could be cheating on that person.

6- If one sees a broken gate leading to the garden in a dream, it may indicate the possibility of divorce from the spouse.

Picking flowers

6- Picking up the bunch of Basil from the garden and then sniffing them in a dream shows that a brave, intelligent, and witty son will be born to him.

7- Collecting anything good from the garden in a dream means he will attain blessings and wealth. The number of blessings depends on the size of the collection.

Eating in the garden

8- Residing in a green and flowery garden with water and where he is eating is enjoying fruits and he and his wife are enjoying scenic view in a dream, then it means that they are the people of paradise.

9- According to Jabar Maghrabi رحمة الله عليه, eating something in the garden means that the dreamer will attain benefits equivalent to the amount of food consumed.

Lush Green Garden

10- Dreaming of a beautiful garden means

  • Unmarried people will find a suitable partner.
  • Married people will experience joy from their spouse, which is equal to the happiness they felt during the dream.

11- If a person is wandering in a lush green garden and eating fresh fruits from the trees of that garden, he will marry a rich woman, and they will enjoy a peaceful and wealthy life.

12- However, if fruits fall over him from a heighted tree, then it means that he will fight with an innocent person and will be victorious over him.

13- If a dreamer sees a palace in a green garden and water is falling, and a beautiful woman calls him, he shall be among the people of paradise who will be gifted with the Hoors of Jannah.

14- Sowing trees in the garden and setting the garden means that he will marry a rich woman. He will attain wealth and sons.

15- Seeing a dead person in a garden in a dream means that the person is in Jannah.

Abandoned Garden 

16- Going into an unknown garden during autumn and witnessing dried and shed-off leaves in the dream shows that the dreamer will face sorrows and sadness.

17- Sleeping on a branch of a tree in a garden in a dream shows that such a dreamer shall have a lot of sons and grandchildren.

18- If the person sees in the dream that the fire destroys the garden, then it means that the king/leader of the country will die suddenly.

19- Seeing camels inside the garden in a dream shows that the King will be victorious over the enemy.

Destroying the garden

20- Seeing a garden filled with greenery being destroyed by someone by plucking plants and flowers in a dream means that the king/leader of the country fears the death and another strong king will attack and will takeover.

21- If someone is seen urinating in a garden’s well or stream in a dream, the dreamer’s family members may betray his/her trust.

Dream interpretation by Prophet Muhammad

22- In a dream, Abdullah bin Salam رضي الله عنه saw himself in a garden with a pillar and a handhold at the top. He was asked to climb it, but he refused. A servant helped him climb it, and he woke up while holding onto the handhold.

Prophet Muhammad ﷺ explained that the garden represents Islam, and the handhold represents a firm grip on Islam, indicating Abdullah bin Salam رضي الله عنه’s unwavering commitment to the religion.
