Depending upon the situation, seeing a carpet in a dream could have many meanings and interpretations per Islam.
Carpet on the Floor
According to Ibn Sirin رحمة الله عليه, the most incredible dream interpreter of Islam, seeing a carpet laid on the floor in a dream is interpreted as longevity and accomplishment of tasks. The lengthier and bigger the rug is, the better the interpretation.
If a person sees that a big carpet has been laid for them, and the dreamer knows that the rug is under his ownership, then he will have a long life and attain sustenance (wealth, life, status, food, knowledge).
If the carpet is laid in his house, he will give his family respect and money. However, if it is laid in some unknown house, the dreamer shall travel and attain wealth and blessings.
Sitting on a Carpet
Sitting on an elongated short carpet in the dream is interpreted as an increase in wealth and luxury.
Sitting on an unknown carpet in the dream, whose ownership is unknown, means that the dreamer’s life is about to end. He will go traveling and will die.
Sitting on a small carpet that grows bigger means that the dreamer’s age and wealth will increase. However, if the carpet starts to shrink in size, then the interpretation is opposite to that described above.
Rolling a Carpet
Seeing someone rolling back a carpet in a dream is interpreted as a shorter life for the dreamer.
Rolling a carpet with one’s hands in the dream and then putting it in a corner is interpreted as destroying the dreamer’s wealth and status.
In the dream, putting the carpet on one’s back is interpreted as keeping the possessions of others safely with them.
If the dreamer sees that he folds the carpet and gives it to someone, his age has ended.
New Carpet
According to Jabar Maghrabi رحمة الله عليه, having a clean carpet in the dream is interpreted as an increase in wealth.
If someone sees that they have laid a new carpet in their home, then it means that they shall attain wealth, status, and a long life.
According to Prophet Daniyal عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ, if the person sees a small green carpet in his dream, then it means that his wealth will decrease, yet he will have a long life.
Old Carpet
Seeing an old and torn carpet in the dream is interpreted as the shrinking of a luxurious life, while an unknown carpet is interpreted as a decline in wealth.
