Saudi Arabia bans citizens from traveling to 11 countries

Saudi Arabia has banned its citizens from traveling to 11 countries following the re-outbreak of COVID-19. There has been a steady increase in COVID-19 cases reported in Saudi Arabia in the last week.

List of banned countries

    1. Lebanon.
    2. Syria.
    3. Iran.
    4. Afghanistan.
    5. Yemen.
    6. Somalia.
    7. The Democratic Republic of the Congo.
    8. Libya.
    9. Armenia.
    10. Belarus.
    11. Venezuela.

Does this ban apply on expats?

As of June 22, 2022, expats are allowed to go to any country and come back to Saudi Arabia without any quarantine requirements.

However, they should be careful while traveling to the above-mentioned 11 countries as Saudis are already banned by their Ministry to travel to them.

Monkeypox cases in Saudi Arabia

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health has ensured the public that it has not detected any cases of monkeypox in Saudi Arabia yet, Al Arabiya reported.

The World Health Organization said about 80 cases of monkeypox have been confirmed in 11 countries, warning that more cases are likely to be reported.
