How to report a lost birth certificate through Absher?
You need to have an Absher account to report a lost or missing birth certificate. If you don’t have an Absher account, you will have to register for it. The procedure to get you registered is explained in this link “How to register for Absher?”
Once the account is created, you need to login to it by entering your userID or Iqama number, password and the captcha code to report a lost or missing birth certificate to authorities through Absher. An SMS will be sent to your mobile number with an authentication code which you need to enter in the next screen. https://absher.sa
After the login, you will find plenty of options and icons on your screen from where you need to click on the “Services” button on the “My Services” tab to report a lost or missing birth certificate to authorities through Absher.
A new page will open with several options to select from and here you need to select “Civil Affairs” to report a lost or missing birth certificate to authorities through Absher.
On the next page, you are required to click on the report missing documents tab.
On the next page on Absher, you will be given two options to report either a lost or missing birth certificate or a death certificate. You can only report a death certificate if any of your dependents have passed away in Saudi Arabia. I have selected the “Birth Certificate” on this stage.
On this page, you need to select the dependent whose birth certificate is lost or missing. If you want to report your missing birth certificate, you need to click on the place highlighted with a green box.
A new page will open with the details of the person whose birth certificate is lost or missing and the name and iqama number of the informer. If the details are correct, click on the “Yes” button.
On the next page in your Absher account, you need to provide information on how and where the birth certificate was lost or went missing and the date when it happened. You also need to check on the box to sign the following declaration and click on the submit button.

On the next page, the system will reproduce the information submitted on the previous step and ask you to confirm that it is true.
Once you click on the “Confirm” button, a new page will appear on your Absher account with a message that your lost birth certificate has been successfully registered as “MISSING”.
