A female Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight attendant was caught attempting to smuggle SR 140,000.
The flight attendant was apprehended at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport when boarding PIA’s flight PK 203 from Lahore to Dubai when Customs officials stopped her.
Upon inspection, authorities discovered that she had concealed SR 140,000 in her socks.
According to DC Customs Raja Bilal, the air hostess was removed from a flight to Jeddah after officials found the hidden currency. The concealed amount, equivalent to $37,000, was discovered during routine checks.
According to him, the Customs authorities had intelligence reports suggesting a potential currency smuggling operation intended for this flight.
The customs authorities responded promptly by referring the air hostess to the investigating officer, who will file a case against her.
This incident underscores the ongoing dedication of customs to preventing illegal currency smuggling at the airport.
