This is an inspirational story of a young Saudi man named Thamer bin Saleh Al Khamis who used to work as a security guard, pursued his education, and got a Master’s in Robotics and Intelligent Systems!
He started his career as a security guard 2014 at the King Fahd Specialist Hospital’s Maternity and Children’s Department in Dammam. With a difficult life, prevailing hardships, and a challenging job, Thamer did not give up. He started his educational journey by picking up English from multilingual colleagues.
Thamer enrolled at Prince Mohammad bin Fahd University in Khobar in 2016. He couldn’t finance his tuition fee, but he was determined to study, and thus, his family and friends assisted him.
He unfolds his journey, saying that he was caught up in hardships, but his supportive surroundings let him catch up with his dreams. The captive challenges almost let him fall hard off his plans, but his alluring spirit allowed him to collect his dreams individually. The pandemic allowed him to connect with the right resources.
In 2020, Thamer came out victorious by graduating with second honors. He was then blessed with a Robotics and Autonomous Intelligent Systems scholarship at the prestigious King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals.
