What does it mean to get sick in a dream?

Getting sick or ill in a dream is a terrifying experience that has different meanings in Islam depending upon the context and situation. Generally speaking, illness in a dream has a negative meaning.

1- According to Ibn Sirin رحمة الله عليه the greatest dream interpreter of Islam, seeing yourself sick in a dream means that his faith will get corrupt and he shall talk ill with people around him.

  • Some scholars have interpreted the same dream with death.

2- Getting recovered from illness in a dream such that he is not at his home and does not speak with anyone means that his illness will get prolonged and he will die of the disease.

3- Getting recovered from illness in a way that he is talking to others means that he would get healthy.

4- Having flu in a dream means that one will get sick and recover from his illness. His sickness would depend on how much flu he has in a dream.

5- According to Ibrahim Karmani رحمة الله عليه seeing yourself naked due to illness means that the dreamer would die soon.

6- Fighting with a cat such that he gets scratches on his body means that he would fall ill.

  • Winning the fight = getting recovered soon.
  • Losing the fight = prolonged illness.

7- According to Jafar Sadiq رحمة الله عليه, if a sick person sees himself without clothes while changing dirty clothes, then he might as well get recover. 

8- Getting sick in a dream in a way that the dreamer keeps patience and does not complain about illness means that he would get well soon.

9- Flu in a dream is because of the following reasons: minor illness, getting angry, and profits.
