All of us have seen a dream flying in the air at least once in our lives. Seeing a dream where you are flying like a bird or flying without wings has many meanings and interpretations in Islam.
Flying in the sky
According to Prophet Daniyal عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ, seeing yourself flying in the sky in a dream means that the dreamer will travel. The extent of traveling would depend upon the height of flying.
If one flies from the ground in a dream, he shall experience increased respect and status.
However, traveling to the sky in a straight direction to reach the sky means loss and sorrow.
If a person flies to the sky in a dream so much that he reaches the sky and is lost and unable to return, he shall die.
Seeing a dream where you sit on the back of a vulture that flies straight up toward the sky with him means that the dreamer will die during his journey. In this case, the vulture represents the angel of death.
Flying to the Holy Kaaba
According to Ibn Sirin رحمة الله عليه, the most incredible dream interpreter of Islam, flying towards the Holy Kaaba means that he will set out on a small expedition, and it will be profitable.
Flying from house
If the person has flown from one house to another, he shall divorce his wife and remarry or have a mistress.
If a woman dreams she is flying from her house to a man’s house, it means she will marry him.
Dreaming of flying over people’s homes and streets signifies difficulties and disturbances.
If a person dreams of lying on their bed and flying with it, it signifies a severe illness or an ailment that will affect their legs.
Flying without Wings
If the dreamer has wings that are not like that of birds, then he shall become extremely sick, to the verge of death, yet then will attain health.
Flying without wings in a dream means changing your status or situation.
Flying like a Bird
Dreaming about flying near a flock of birds means you will interact, live with, or work alongside unfamiliar people.
If he dreams of flying on a vulture, he will gain honor, greatness, and power by becoming a king.
A man told a dream interpreter about his dream: “I saw a bird flying away from my chest. Then I looked for my mother, and she hid me under her garment.”
The interpreter responded, “If your dream is real, it could mean your death. The bird represents your soul, and hiding in your mother’s robe means your burial.

According to Ibrahim Karmani رحمة الله عليه flying to an unknown place is a sign of death.
If someone dreams of flying from a bad place to a good place, like a farm or a mosque, it means they will experience benefits and growth.
Dreaming of flying over a mountain represents power and control.
If a prisoner dreams that he is flying, it means he will be released from jail.
If a foreigner dreams of flying, it signifies a return to his homeland or indicates excessive travel.
If you dream of flying in a race with someone and you win, it means you will defeat your opponent and achieve a higher position.
