Islamic Meaning: Eating Food in a Dream

Eating food in a dream, seeing yourself giving lots of food, or receiving sweets in a dream has a special meaning in Islam. We have explained it below;

• Eating Meat in a Dream.

Eating Food 

1- According to Prophet Daniyal عليه السلام, eating a meal in a dream is a bad omen, while eating something sweet is a good sign.

2- Dreaming about eating from someone else’s hand could also mean that you are sick or unable to feed yourself.

3- Eating extremely hot food in a dream represents facing challenges or adversities.

4- Eating all the food available at home in a dream signifies a life of luxuries.

5- Eating too much food in a dream that one cannot even sit up is a sign of death.

Eating Sweets

6- According to Ibn Sirin رحمة الله عليه, the greatest dream interpreter of Islam, eating has different meanings depending upon the taste of the food;

• Tasteless food = sorrow.
• Sour food = sickness.
• Sweet food = wealth.

Eating on a Gold Platter

7- According to Ibrahim Karmani رحمة الله عليه, eating gold or silver in a dream is a sign of loss.

8- If you dream of food served on a golden or silver platter, it means you may earn unlawful money, accumulate a lot of debt, and overindulge in eating.

Eating Food with others

9- Eating food from the table of knowledgeable individuals in a dream means gaining knowledge, guidance, wisdom, and blessings.

10- Eating from a policeman’s or soldier’s plate in a dream means committing adultery or receiving money from an unlawful source.

11- Eating the food of poor people or pious ones in a dream means repenting from sin or receiving guidance.

12- Seeing a dead person eating food in a dream is not a good sign.

Giving Food

13- In a dream, serving food to guests means a loved one will return home from a long journey.

14- According to Jafar Sadiq رحمة الله عليه, giving food to a needy person in a dream is a sign of happiness and getting rid of worries and sorrows. 

15- Giving food to a non-believer is a sign that Allah would help deal with the non-believers.
