How to use luggage lockers in Makkah?

While performing Umrah, you can keep your belongings in the luggage lockers in Masjid al-Haram, Makkah. Here are the details;

Not only is it challenging to perform rituals while carrying the stuff, but most of the time, the valuables are also stolen or lost! For a long time, people have been demanding a locker service in Makkah to keep their valuables there and enjoy their rituals without any tension! And now, finally, we have them.

Locations of luggage lockers

These luggage lockers are available at different sites around Masjid al-Haram in Makkah.

• Opposite Gate No. 64, in the western courtyard.
• Eastern courtyard next to the Makkah Library.

Each location provides its visitors with 320 lockers of different sizes. The other available sizes help the visitors choose a box according to the volume of their goods to be submitted.

Luggage lockers Fee

There is no fee for the luggage lockers. You need the following to book the luggage locker.

• Umrah permit issued via the Nusuk app
• Each individual can avail of the locker for up to 4 hours only.
• Only bags are allowed to be kept inside the storage.
• Storing food, liquid, or medicine is prohibited.
• The weight of each bag must not exceed 7 kilograms.

How to use luggage lockers?

Once you reach the luggage locker,

• Handover your belongings to the personnel for security check.
• They will tag your luggage and place it inside.
• Submit your passport/Iqama for verification.
• A card will be handed over to you.

Collect items from luggage lockers

When you return after performing Umrah, hand over the collection receipt to the reception. They will hand over the stuff back to you.

If you don’t return within the 4-hour window, the security team can move your stuff to another location and make it available for another pilgrim. After a comparatively tricky process, you can claim them within 5 days.
