7 Islamic ways to increase your wealth

There is nothing wrong in generating wealth and we get 7 lessons from the life of Sahaba to increase wealth in an Islamic way.

No Interest

Interest tends to increase the wealth of the rich at the cost of decreasing that of the poor. Such an unjust business is unacceptable in Islam and thereby it forbids interest.

  • Allah destroys interest and enhances charity. Allah does not like sinning disbelievers. – Al-Baqarah 2:276
  • Dealing with interest is declaring war against Allah and Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. – Al-Ma’idah 5:33

Strengthen your family ties

Maintaining a stronger relationship with your family is a way to increase wealth as per Islam.

How? A person who is close to his family tends to be happier and makes better business decisions.

Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: Anyone who wants to have his provision expanded and his term of life prolonged should maintain ties of kinship. – Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 56

Be thankful to Allah

Being thankful to Allah is a sure way to increase your wealth as per Islam.

How? When you are thankful for something, you are telling your mind that you are getting more than what you deserve. It gives your mind positive energy to make better decisions.

If you are grateful, I will certainly give you more. – Ibrahim 14:7

Ask for forgiveness

Prophet Noah عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ is reported to have said that those who seek forgiveness from Allah Almighty shall be blessed with rain from the skies and Allah shall increase them in wealth and bless them with children.

How? Seeking forgiveness indicates a humble attitude and it tells you that you are nothing. It helps you develop a hardworking attitude towards every matter in life including business.

Be Generous

Paying generously to poor people is another way to increase your wealth as per Islam. 

How? When you help someone and feel that you have been able to resolve one of their problems, your mind release dopamine (a chemical). You tend to be more satisfied in your life which leads to better decision-making.

Those who spend their wealth in the cause of Allah are that of a grain that sprouts into seven ears, each bearing one hundred grains. – Al-Baqarah 2:261

If you don’t have money, the food is free.

Be conscious of Allah

Being aware that Allah is watching you all the time is another way to increase your wealth as per Islam. 

How? Sometimes you tend to be lured by an opportunity that can make you quick money but could have a drastic impact later (if caught). You might think that you will not get caught in that wrongdoing and go for it. However, if you think that Allah is watching, you would not fall for that quick money and stay away from trouble in the long run.

Whoever is conscious of Allah, He will make a way out for them, and provide for them from sources they could never imagine. – At-Talaq 65:2-3

Ask for Rizk from Allah

Asking for your Rizq from Allah is a great way to increase your wealth as per Islam.

How? Seeking Allah’s help indicates a humble attitude and it tells you that you are nothing. It helps you develop a hardworking attitude towards every matter in life including business.

Once the prayer is over, disperse throughout the land and seek the bounty of Allah. – Al-Jumu’ah 62:10
