Islamic Meaning: Seeing Hair in a dream

As explained below, cutting, plucking, or merely seeing hair in a dream could have many meanings and interpretations as per Islam.

Seeing Hair

According to Prophet Daniyal عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ, if a man sees hair in the dream, then it is interpreted as sadness and sorrow, and if women see hair in the dream, then it refers to beautify. 

Seeing the hair of an animal with four legs in a dream means less wealth.

Long Hair

A religious man sees a dream where his hair is healthier and thicker, meaning he shall attain beauty and guidance. 

However, if he is not religious, he shall attain sadness and sorrow according to the increased volume and length of his hair in the dream.

According to Ibrahim Karmani رحمة الله عليه, a 16th-century scholar of Islam, if someone sees his hair is longer in the dream, then it means that the person will face sadness and sorrow. An increase in the body hair in the dream is interpreted as worry and sadness. 

If the hair of the head is hanging, then it means that he will face sadness and worries from his parents or someone elder in the family.

If a man sees that his hair is messy and worried in the dream, he shall face loss due to increased faith.

Plucking Hair

If the dreamer sees that he has cut-off his hair in a dream, then he shall be conquered by intense sadness.

According to Jabar Maghrabi رحمة الله عليه, if the dreamer sees that he has plucked the hair of underarms or around the belly, then it means that he is a man righteous in his faith. Plucking hair of underarms is interpreted as attaining wealth and fulfillment of wishes. It is also interpreted as being arrogant and selfish.

Plucking hair from roots in the dream means that the dreamer shall return the belongings with him to the owner.

If the dreamer sees that his chest is filled with hair, then it means that he shall be indebted. And the hair on his body is the belongings he has accumulated with the loan.

Plucking the hair of the body in the dream means he will face a loss in wealth.

Shaving Hair

Seeing oneself bald in the dream is interpreted as luxury and happiness.

If the dreamer sees that he has cleaned his body from hair to get rid of hair, then if he is wealthy, he will become poor, and if he is poor, he will get rich.

According to Ismail Isha’at رحمة الله عليه, if a dreamer sees that some of his hair has fallen, then if he’s a healthy and strong person, he will face a financial loss. If he is indebted, his loans will be waived off and if he is ill, he will become healthy.

According to Hafiz Moabir رحمة الله عليه, if a dreamer sees that his hair is curly, then it indicates that he adds things to religion and is an affirmation of his humiliation and disgrace. 

Pubic Hair

If a man sees pubic hair in a dream, he will face a loss.

However, if a woman sees pubic hair in a dream, it is interpreted as wellness and good deeds.
