The stories of Prophets of Islam Allah had sent down a total of 124,000 Prophets for the guidance of mankind. These prophets were not sent down at one time, rather were sent down in different time periods.
The very first Prophet being Adam (may Allah be pleased with him) and the last being Muhammad (PBUH). The source of guidance for all the Muslims is Quran (the Holy Book revealed to the last Prophet) and Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH).
Evidence from both sources reveals the name of few Prophets. Also, both sources have revealed interesting stories of some of the Prophets. Here we will share some incidents and authentic stories of Hazrat Adam A.S.
Allah Almighty is the creator of everything present in the world and the entire universe. He made animals, heavens, stars, moon, mountain, seas, oceans and heavens first. He made angels for his service.
The angels are bound to complete the tasks ordered by Allah Almighty as they don’t have their personal will and choice. Allah (The Supreme and Mighty) also created a Jinn made from fire. His name was Iblis.
Allah then decided to make a human being. He created Adam (May Allah be pleased with him) and endowed him with more knowledge than Angels and Jinn. Allah ordered all the angels and Jinn to make prostration to the Adam.
The Jinn (Iblis) denied the order. The Jinn thought he was better than Adam and other angels. So, Allah departed him, he was not allowed to stay with angels anymore. The Jinn was to be known as Shaytan which means Devil.
It is part of Muslim belief that Jinns do exist in this world. Jinns are mentioned in the Holy Quran and there are many verses and Hadith which support the existence of Jinns.
The Devil believed that he was abandoned because of Adam (may Allah be pleased with him) and thereby was angry at Adam (may Allah be pleased with him). Adam was blessed with the beautiful place “Paradise”.
The heaven is for those who obey Allah and as Adam was an obedient person, he was to live in Paradise with a wife named Hawwa (Eve). Adam and Hawwa (Eve) (may Allah be pleased with both) were leading a happy life in Heavens which was not tolerable for the devil.
Adam and Hawwa (Eve) (may Allah be pleased with both) were prohibited to eat a fruit from one of the special tree. They were allowed to taste and eat anything they want from bounties of heavens yet were not allowed to eat the fruit of 1 tree.
As a revenge, Devil convinced them to eat the fruit of that prohibited tree. He told them that the fruit was tasty and nothing would happen if they tasted a bit of it. Notwithstanding the consequences, both (may Allah be pleased with both) ate the fruit which was forbidden.
But soon they realized that they had disobeyed Allah Almighty’s order. They asked for forgiveness: which was granted to them but they were no more allowed to stay at heavens.
As a result, they were sent down to Earth to carry on the living. The First Footprint of Hazrat Adam A.S. is in Sri Lanka.
Although there is no authentic source to validate this information, it is said that the grave of Hazrat Hawwa is in Jeddah. It is also called the tomb of Eve. Many people go and visit the graveyard where Hazrat Hawwa is reportedly buried.
Omar Mahmood writes in his book “Muhammad, an Evolution of God” that Hazrat Adam died was buried near Mount Abu Qubais in Makkah. Later on, Hazrat Noah A.S. buried him in Jerusalem after the flood.
We have also shared the story of Habil and Qabil on this website. They were the sons of Hazrat Adam A.S. Qabil murdered his brother Habil and It is said that it was the first murder in the world and in the history of mankind.
