Why does Allah send Earthquakes as per Islam?

Once the Aisha رضي الله عنها was asked what causes earthquakes as per Islam and the wife of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ explained five reasons.

Once Anas Anas رضي الله عنه asked Aisha رضي الله عنها about the reasons why Allah sends earthquakes to people as per Islam and she replied this;

1- When a woman removes her clothes in a house other than her husband’s (an indication of adultery), she tears the veil between her and Allah.

2- When she applies perfume to please a male other than her husband, this will be a source of fire and a blemish for her.

3- When people begin to think that it is their right to commit adultery.

4- When the people begin to consume alcohol.

5- When the people begin to use musical instruments, Allah becomes enraged in the heavens and orders the Earth to shake them.

If they repent and refrain, it is good for them. Otherwise, Allah will cause it to fall upon them.”

• Anas رضي الله عنه asked: “Is this their punishment?”
• Aisha رضي الله عنها said: “It is rather a mercy, means of blessings and admonishment for the believers, and a punishment, display of anger and torment for the unbelievers.”

When Madina experienced an earthquake during the life of Umar bin Khattab رضي الله عنه, he was sure that it was the people at which Allah was angry and warned them:  If there is another earthquake, I will not stay here with you.
