Do you know which is the only creature to survive a nuclear explosion?

Do you know whenever there is a nuclear explosion in any particular area, all the living creatures in that area face death except the creature we are going to talk about here?

History Reports indicated that the only creature which survived after the great attack of the atomic bomb by the United States of America (USA) in Japanese cities Hiroshima and Nagasaki were the 300 million-year-old insects.[irp]

Nuclear warfare was a terrifying war ever recorded in history. Nuclear warfare holds the name of Second World War, also called Cold War.  This nuclear warfare brought great devastation in the world.  The United States of America dropped atomic bombs on the two Japanese cities which are Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945.

The United States of America was the first and the only nation who used nuclear weaponry during warfare.  The dropping of the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki marked the end of Second World War.

There is a unique myth which is related to the cockroaches that cockroaches are the only creatures in the world who will inherit the surface of the Earth in the event of nuclear warfare. 300 million-year-old insects specify to be the cockroaches which were considered as the only survivors there.

During the Cold War, scientists and antinuclear activists spread this myth which reached far and wide. This myth might be considered as a cautionary tale which reveals the horrifying destructive potential of the atomic bombs.

In order to test this destructive myth, whether this myth holds any legs, the Myth Busters took some steps. They made German cockroaches their subjects and exposed them to three levels of radioactive metal cobalt 60.

Myth Busters began with a baseline exposure which was about 1,000 radon units (rads) of Cobalt 60. This actually holds enough capability to kill a person in 10 minutes by following 10,000 and 100,000 radon (rads) exposures on a separate group of roaches.

However, the atomic bomb attack done by the Americans on Hiroshima emitted radioactive gamma rays which had a strength of about around 10,000 radon (rads). But Cockroaches withstood the 100,000 radon rads which are really unbelievable.

The Myth Busters focused on their subject and monitored the radiated roaches for about a month. After a month, half of the coaches who were exposed to 1,000 radons rad were still in kicking state.  Remarkable thing is that 10 percent roaches of 10,000 rad group were alive.

The results confirmed that cockroaches have enough resistance to face a nuclear explosion and can effectively survive but still they surrendered to the high amount impact which atomic bomb produces.

Cockroaches hold enough resistance to face extreme radiation exposures which may come down to their simple bodies and slower their cell cycles. Cockroaches are very tough little critters as they can survive on cellulose.

Cockroaches can even survive without a head for a week or more than a week. Cells are considered the most sensitive to radiation when they’re dividing. This makes humans more vulnerable because humans possess some cells which are constantly splitting up.

Although, cockroaches only molt about once a week which makes the narrow opportunity of radiations to attack cells. Therefore, surprisingly, Cockroaches can Survive Nuclear Explosion
