The story of Beenish whose parents were executed in Saudi Arabia

Things do not happen as they are planned. This is something that fits true to Beenish and her family. Beenish was 5 years old when she along with her parents left for Saudi Arabia to perform an Umrah, but who knew they were not destined to perform an Umrah and would never return back.

Benish's father was a poor laborer who would opt for seasonal professions of butcher and Mason to meet the ends. He would work hard and opt for any seasonal profession to make money. He ought that he should perform Umrah and pray to Allah to change his days. Recommended: Afzal: A Pakistani on the death row in Saudi Arabia

They were going to perform Umrah

One of a close relative, who claimed to be a travel agent, told him that he could perform an Umrah. The travel agent made all the arrangements on his own from documents to passport to everything.

Benish's father was more than delightful, his family still remember those days: the days when he was preparing to fly to Saudi Arabia and perform his very first Umrah. People could witness happiness that had filled him. He, his wife and his 5 years old daughter were to perform the Umrah.

The family believes that the three left for Saudi Arabia on July 10, 2016, via the Multan International Airport. The family had no contact with them.

The Saudi police found heroine in their bags

The family was excited to perform Umrah and had made all their plans. Yet as soon as the plane landed, all their plans got washed away by the biggest nightmare. The family, at the Jeddah airport, was found equipped with heroin.

The heroine is a drug which is prohibited in KSA. Anyone found guilty of importing it to KSA shall be beheaded.  The family was arrested thereby and was taken to prison. Beenish and her mother were locked up at Jeddah’s Dhahban Prison while his father was imprisoned separately.

The family back in Pakistan had no contact with them. They only heard rumors and stories from people. According to Beenish’s uncle, Imad, they were filled with so many different stories that they found it difficult to believe any of them.

Beenish stayed with her mother for 6 months

Yet, Beenish’s grandfather voiced his fears that it seems impossible to see the family again! Beenish and her mother stayed together at the prison for 6 months! The poor girl went through the worse time of her life: locked up in a room for the whole day, not knowing why seeing a helpless and hopeless mother crying over their fate. This had a grieve impact on Beenish.

She started losing interest in games, she stopped talking and eventually became a girl who would be silent all the time.

Beenish moved to another facility 6 months later

6 months later, she was shifted to a facility where there were two other girls of her age. The facility gave the three a bit of freedom as they were allowed to play indoors and outdoors. Their teachers were kind and often gave them a treat.

This gave Beensih some change and she was able to be friends with them. She started picking up the Arabic language.

She met her father twice in two years

She met her father twice in two years, yet she wasn’t able to recognize him due to deep scars and chained up hands. She did not talk to her father and later refused to meet him.

She met her mother once or twice a month. The meeting was a long and silent one. Her mother would beg her to spill a word yet she would keep silent.

However, after two years, his maternal uncle who was working in KSA looked into the possibility of bringing Beenish back to Pakistan. By now, Beenish was attending school and Quranic classes in Saudi Arabia.

Beenish finally came back to Pakistan

After completing all the necessary documents, Beenish finally came back to Pakistan. However, things did not go as per plan now as well. Beenish found it difficult to adjust with the family as she did not remember them nor she remembered Urdu to converse with them.

However, last month the Saudi Authorities beheaded the couple. Benish's mother is the first Pakistani female prisoner to be executed in five years.

While people came over to condole the family, they could notice Beenish silently sitting at a corner! When asked about her parents she says they are with Allah in the heavens!
