What is the Saudi Unification War?
Different people have different achievements, which they can proudly narrate what they have done in their lives. Among those includes the survivor of Saudi Unification War who fought and risked his lives for a purpose.
The Saudi unification war was fought by the King Abdul Aziz forces and his companions, in fact, the last one recently died after reaching the age of 118. The Saudi Unification War started in 1902 and continued till 1934. The outcome of these wars is the current state of Saudi Arabia.
Saeed Bin Mohie Bin Ahmed Al-Ahmed Al-Qahtani
Saeed Bin Mohie Bin Ahmed Al-Ahmed Al-Qahtani had the honor of fighting the Saudi unification wars with King Abdul Aziz forces. This last hero of this war died on Tuesday in his village of Al-Omrah in the Uhud Rufaidah governorate.
Al-Watan Arabic daily, in an obituary issued by them on Wednesday, mentioned that in spite of such old age Al-Qahtani had a very good memory.
The ID card of Al-Qahtani shows that his year of birth was 1327 H (1909) but he himself always used to claim that he was born much before the date mentioned in the ID card.
The family of Saeed bin Mohie
He left two sons Mohammed and Ali of ages 75 and 65 respectively. In year 1352H (1934) he fought his last war at Baqim.
Due to his achievements he has been honored by the state many times. At the auspicious occasion of the 88th anniversary of the Kingdom’s National day, which was celebrated in September 2018 a full-page interview of Al-Qahtani was published by Al-Watan.
The newspaper in his interview mentioned that he had a very good memory and his son Ali and grandson Abdul Kareem were working on recording his memoirs from his past.
An interview with Saeed Bin Mohie Bin Ahmed Al-Ahmed Al-Qahtani
During his interview to Al-Watan, he narrated that he still remembers that in the Ottoman region in Asir, how the Turkish soldiers used to patrol the marketplace in Abha. He has kept the entire scene in his memory although he was very young at that time.
The short era of Prince Hassan Bin Ali Al-Ayed was also in his memory. He explained that when he saw the forces of King Abdul Aziz coming from the east he really wanted to join those forces. He further explained that Sheikh Bin Haif, the chieftain of the Khattab and Jarmah regions, was in search of fighters from these regions.
He was a treasure of many historical memories
On his role in the Baqim war, he explained that he was given the responsibility of logistics in that war. He has to bring the flour to feed the fighters in the war area and battlefront.
He said after the selection process only three people were selected. Mubarak Bin Abdullah Al-Abu Hawi, Abdullah Bin Ali Al-Huraid and Mohammed Bin Maeedh Al-Mashouf were the names of those three people that were selected to participate in the war.
Since he was the last survivor of that war and due to his good memory, he can be called as a treasure of many historical memories including wars and different eras so his absence will surely be missed.
