Children are dear to all: Not only parents tend to panic when an infant is crying but there are many with soft hearts who want to provide their assistance to ease the child. We all know that an infant might cry out of various reason, the most popular one being hunger.
An infant would instantly go to a calm mood or sleep as soon it gets his milk. We also know that being accompanied by an infant during a travel is a major task. You need to be equipped with their lot many things starting from their milk, feeding bottles, feeding water, diapers to clothes.
Often mothers do forget to pack things in the required quantity as you never know when an infant would take more milk and use more diapers and clothes. A similar incident took place on Philippines airlines in recent past.
A mother of an infant ran out of his formula milk as soon as the flight took off. Her baby girl was crying out constantly for milk, yet the mother was helpless. There was no formula milk on the flight as well.
When one of the flight attendants heard the baby cries that weren’t stopping even after quite a while, she rushed to the passenger to assist the mother and her baby. However, when Patrisha Organo, who is 24 years old, reached the baby and her mother, she learned that the baby was crying for milk.
She tried her best to help the mother and the baby, yet there was nothing that she could do as there was no formula milk. Then Organo, the Philippines flight attendant thought of a solution. Why not breastfeed the baby herself?
She breastfed the baby: This was the only way to put the child to ease as an infant cannot take anything else but milk when it is hungry. After taking permission from the mother to breastfeed the baby, Organo took the baby to the plane galley. The mother of the baby assisted her and Organo breastfed the baby.
The baby was so hungry that she instantly took the feed and went off to sleep calmly. Organo safely placed the baby into her mother’s lap who was thankful to the flight attendant for providing such services that were beyond her duty.
Breastfeeding is a gift of God: Organo, in an interview, claimed that breastfeeding is a gift of God and she is thankful for it. Such a milk is readily available anytime and anywhere!
The story was shared on social media by the flight attendant herself. Her post where she is captured breastfeeding an infant melted the heart of many and she was praised for her kind gesture. Her Facebook posts went viral within hours and she was able to yield 177,000 likes along with 8,500 appreciation comments and 37,000 shares.
I BREASTFED A STRANGER’S BABY INFLIGHTYesteday, I was scheduled for a check flight to be qualified as a Cabin Crew…
This might not be part of her duty, but as human beings, we all need to help others. The reward for such helpful services is indeed plenty from Allah.
