World’s tallest man and shortest woman had a photo shoot in Egypt

The rebellions in 2011, political and social disruption and the terrorist attacks throughout Cairo and other areas of Egypt caused Egypt to suffer many losses. One of the drawbacks of these events was that the tourism in Egypt was affected badly.

This made the government act differently towards this matter. As a result of the changes in the government towards the tourism sector, steps were taken to boost tourism in Egypt.

Recently the world’s tallest man, Sultan Kosen alongside the world’s shortest woman, Jyoti Amge visited the Giza pyramids. Both the record holders were invited by the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Board which marked their first visit to Egypt.

Apart from the Giza pyramids, both the individuals are expected to visit other well-known sites in the country.

The World’s tallest man: Sultan Kosen is 251 cm tall.  He is of Kurdish descent and a part-time farmer in Turkey who achieved fame after being handed the Guinness World Record for the tallest living male in 2009.

The huge height of Sultan Kosen is due to pituitary gigantism which is the outcome of an overproduction of growth hormone.

In October 2013, Kösen married Syrian-born Merve Dibo, who is ten years his junior. In an interview, he said that his biggest problem with his wife is communication. He said he spoke Kurdish and Turkish but his wife spoke only Arabic.

The World’s shortest woman: Jyoti Amge hails from India and is only 62.7 cm tall. She is an actress and is well known for her role as Ma Petite in the TV series American Horror Story. She also appeared in Big Boss 6 and Body Shock.

She also became famous after she was handed the Guinness World Record in 2011. The very short height of Amge is due to a form of dwarfism called achondroplasia.

It is important to mention here that she is not the shortest human being alive today. She is the shortest woman alive today in the World. The shortest human being is Junrey Balawing who is 59.9 cm long and he belongs to the Philippines.

The pair had an amazing photo-shoot at the pyramids which became the hot topic on social media. People started sharing the pictures of the pair with their thoughts.

As many expressed joy, some cracked jokes and some came with sarcasm. The pictures surely had a good impact on the social media.

Even though the economy of Egypt continues to suffer, things are starting to get better as Egypt experiences a 51 percent increase in tourism in the year 2017.

Although the rate of tourism is still less as compared to 2010 this is still a better sign of things getting better after they deteriorated in 2011.

The government is taking steps to further improve the conditions of tourism in Egypt as it has invited numerous international celebrities to visit Egypt. This is part of a campaign to reconstruct Egypt’s image in the world and to attract tourists once again.

People are waiting eagerly for the celebrities to visit Egypt as the list includes many big names like Will Smith, Salma Hayek, Kourtney Kardashian and Lionel Messi.
