Online Procedure to Apply for NICOP from Saudi Arabia

NADRA Pakistan has launched an Online Procedure to Apply for NICOP from Saudi Arabia. Pakistanis living in Saudi Arabia had to stand in the long queues in front of NADRA to apply for the NICOP. Even after entering the building of NADRA, the procedure to apply for NICOP takes almost one full day. Now with the introduction of Online Procedure to Apply for NICOP from Saudi Arabia, many people will be relieved. A new National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) card can be issued only if you do not hold a NADRA card previously. If you do, then you must apply for the National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) in the modification category. Before issuing a National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP), three very important steps have to be taking into consideration.

Firstly, find out what documents are needed to be submitted along with the fees as well. For a new National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP), documents such as a valid copy of Pak/Foreign Passport, birth proof along with translated copy in English attested by Pak mission or embassy, copies of Parent CNIC is a requirement. If the child National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) is applied within 6 months of the birth, then the passport is exempted. For a modified National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP), different documents would be required depending on the type of modification. As for the fees is concerned, each process has a different number of fees required. The National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) modification/reprint fee is PKR 12,000 and for other processes, fees structures vary.

Once you are done with step one, coming to step two now where you prepare everything you have. Make sure you have a valid debit or credit card so you can pay the fees through online banking without any hassle. A portrait photograph has to be taken which should be 45 mm high and 35 mm wide. The photographs should not be any old than 6 months; they should be clear and focused, a white background behind is necessary, a close-up of your head and shoulders should be clearly visible, it must be only of you with no objects or people near you in the picture and lastly, keep your eyes clearly open and do not wear reflecting glasses or objects like sunglasses or hats. Also, remember, you cannot use photos cut down from a larger picture. The red eye should also be eliminated from the picture. Dear Steve,

I need to apply for the Iqama for my new baby born in Dammam, KSA. I have read many forums and reached to the conclusion that the below steps are needed to be performed.

    1. Birth notification Letter from Hospital

    2. Birth certificate (Arabic) from Ahwa e Madni

    3. Attestion of Birth Certificate by MOFA

    4. English Translation of Birth Certificate & then attestation by Pakistan Embassy Riyadh

    5. Applying online for the NICOP for new baby thru NADRA

    6. Applying for the Passport

    7. Apply for the Iqama from Jawazat

Kindly correct if I have missed something here. One question, I need to ask is that in order to get the NICOP for new baby, the system asks for Passport#. Is this passport for Mother or Father?

Another question, is applying for NICOP really that simple? apply online and you will receive the original thru courier????

Moreover, I heard that Pakistani Embassy in Riyadh are no long visiting Dammam/ Khobar. Is that true? Does anyone has any idea regarding this?
    Please advise.

    Dear Sultan,

Have you got the iqama if your new baby ? If yes, would you Please explain how did you get NICOP and then Passport?

  • sultaaan

Yes, there are two ways, I made manual passport from khobar Pak embassy visit, n then u can go to pak n proceed there. But then I came back and made 1 visit to Riyadh n no need for any appointment for Nicop, but take family with you, it will take 1 hour, n then u can give your address they have stamen delivery service. Recently I received Nicop urgent took two weeks. Now I’ll make another visit for passport

    Plz read above

    Dear Steve,
I think the information provided in this link is no longer applicable as far as NICOP being issued by NADRA is concerned. NADRA has already started online service for the same.

Do we need to apply for NICOP of new born baby thur NADRA website?

Kindly correct me if I am wrong,

  • Amir

Thanks Sultan. I have small clarifications and will appreciate if you can advise.

I have received birth certificate from Ahwal-e-Madni and also got it attested by MOFA.

    1. Do I need to get it translated it English?
    2. After translation, do I need to get it attested by Pak Embassy?

Pak Embassy is coming to Khobar or 7-8 Oct, 2016.

    3. Once they attest the english translation of birth certificate, can I apply for manual passport? Whats the duration of the same?

    4. How will Iqama be issued? That’s most important.

    Waiting for your feedback.

  • Muzzafar

    Dear Steve,

First of all thank you for such a wonderful blog with great information.
I would like to ask about the attestation of new born birth certificate from Pakistan embassy.
Is it possible to send someone with authority letter to get attestation done from embassy? and what will be the format of authority letter?

    Many Thanks

  • Amir

    Dear Steve,

Thanks for your reply. I have read this information.

    My question is very simple.

As per new online procedure of NADRA, we need to fill a form online, upload all the supporting document, pay the fees and we will get the NICOP at our address.

For new baby, does it require to sign the form during submitting online application How will a new baby sign a form? or a Father will have to do it ?

Secondly, while applying for the new NICOP, its mentioned there that,

“NOTE: Please note that Passport number is a mandatory pre-requisite in case of applying for NICOP of new born babies”

Does that mean father has to mentioned his own Passport# ?

    Please advise.
