Can I get Final Exit if I have unpaid loan/credit card debt?

I have received this question several times from different readers of my blog. Almost every day somebody asks me, “Can I get final exit if I have unpaid loan/credit card debt?” Well, the answer to this question is unfortunately not simple Yes or No. The answer depends on several factors and I have tried to explain every factor in detail below. Before going into details, I want to make a point here that one should not spend more than his needs and more than his resources. I am a regular credit card user but I use it only when I have the equivalent money to buy that item on cash. In this way, I don’t spend more than my financial capacity.

Yes, your sponsor can issue final exit visa even if you have credit card debt or unpaid loan in your name. Unpaid loan or credit card debts are not connected with MOI online system. So, there is no problem in getting final exit visa by the employer.

However, sometimes employer gives warranty of the personal loan to the bank. In that case, it is the duty of the employer to report to the bank about your plans to get a final exit. Bank may contact you in that case and ask for the unpaid money. If it happens, you will have to pay them back the unpaid amount. If you don’t pay them back, they can report against you in Police and in that case, you will be in trouble.

In the case of credit card, employers don’t give any sort of warranty so you don’t need to worry about this thing. However, if the bank from which have taken a personal loan and credit card provider are same, they may ask you to pay off the credit card debt as well. Otherwise, a police complaint may be registered by the bank to you.

In case the police complaint is not registered in the above-mentioned cases, you don’t have to worry about anything. No one is going to stop you from leaving Saudi Arabia. The immigration officer has nothing to do with the unpaid amount of loan or credit card debt. But keep in mind, if you are unable to make timely payment of credit card bills, you will be banned from getting a credit card from all over the world.

If a bank has reported against you in the police, you cannot leave Saudi Arabia without settling down the unpaid amount of loan or credit card. As soon as the police complaint is registered, it is updated in the MOI system. When you will try to cross the immigration counter, it will also appear in the system and he will not let you cross the border.

I always recommend my readers to pay off the money of credit card debt as well as a personal loan to the bank before leaving Saudi Arabia. Even if you are successful in leaving the country on final exit without paying off the unpaid amount of loan or credit card debt, you will have to face a lot of problems at the time of coming back to Saudi Arabia on a new visa. I have covered this topic in this article – Can I come back to Saudi Arabia on a new visa if I have unpaid loan/credit card debt?

    Hi
Can you put me wise on the matter. What is the judicial system in Saudi Arabia. My brother who was working with a Kafeel since 25 years and decided to leave for home country. Kafeel who was eating kafala per month to allow him to work independently. My brother decided to leave permanently for the home country. Exploiting the situation, the Kafeel got thumb impression and signature on a paper mentioning that my brother had to pay him 50000 Rials ( which he had to pay him the Kafala 8000/ month). Kafeel said that he would return the paper after the payment. My brother paid him the amount but the kafeel did not return the paper. On the other hand Kafeel amended the paper showing that my brother had to pay him 450,000/- Rials (falsely claiming that my brother borrowed the money from him). Kafeel is blackmailing my brother to pay him 450,000/- or he will send him to jail. Kafeel is a greedy person and know that my brother has money with him and he should hand-over the money to him before leaving. My brother is quite disappointed from the Saudi system. Please guid me if there is any system of proper inquiry of the case by the government ( unbiased). Waiting for the kind reply.
    Lots of Regards

    HI Steve,
I have a situation. I am an Indian citizen and I decided not to return to KSA while I was on my annual vacation due to some personal reasons.
I have a credit card debt of more than SAR 25,000 in KSA and I don’t have any plans to go back to KSA or middle east.If I choose not to pay this amount, what could be the legal complications that I might face in the future.
Could I be put in jail or will I face any sort of travel ban or harassment calls.

  • shazeb shaikh

first of all credit card is an unwanted pain, secondly in saudi arabia if u have a credit card loan u can get an exit and reach your country safely they will blacklist you internationally and your loans or further credit cards from banks will not be approved for lifetime, i had a credit card loan of 5000 from JAZIRA bank and i still haven’t paid it, i didn’t intend to walk away but i lost my job in a 10 days notice period, no big deal its good that i wont be issued any credit card for lifetime , though i need car loan to get my favourite car, anyways if you have a personal , car loan from saudi banks then you cannot get an exit . personal and car loans are taken seriously . credit card is bullshit. piece of advice for active credit card holders ” clear your bills and burn that card “

  • xtr3mio

Yes you can get exit and re entry but before that you have to see Bank Manager regarding your plan to visit your home country

    Hi Steve,

I took a 300,000 SR loan from SAMBA last year December but i left on final exit in May-2016, i myself went to the bank before leaving for exit and they say you can leave anytime but keep paying wherever you go. My employer sent my end of service to bank which was around 36,000 SR. Now I am back in India sending money to my brother every month and 1st of every month, he is depositing to my samba account without fails sending me deposit receipt . My questions is how can i check my bank statement? and how i can be assure that the installments i am paying every month is reducing my dept? till how many months i can be ok without paying because its 5400SR every month? I have no plans to come back to KSA what if i am not able to pay loan? will the local bank in India connected with SAMBA harass me? does the local bank in india have room of Negaotioations? What if i dont have any property in India or any asset to pay the debts?
actually i want to pay all just in case i have a problem in Money.

    Hi Steve,,
I have a situation. I am an Indian citizen and I decided to go final exit from Saudi Arabia. i bought a car by installments from National Commercial Bank on march / 2015, i payed already 20 months installments and remaining installments are 40 month.
The bank employee said to me when i return the car i must pay 7 months installments. But i did not pay last 5 months installments ( from November 2016 to march 2017).

Is this 7 months installments are including the 5 months installments that i did not pay ?? or the bank will add this 5 months installment to the 7 months installment (7+5=13 months installments) ??

  • Their question is, rephrased: Can I steal?
Answer: No. Stealing is a crime.
However, dear criminal, if conscience does not exist, then the world is developed enough to prevent people like you from stealing and running away with it.

Unlike centuries ago, countries are more connected, and financial firms are even more connected. Your credit history will be shared, and many countries will have you listed.
There is this mega invention called a network, where a criminal can be listed in many countries with a press of a button with their biometric attributes. Look it up, it’s a fun read. Or horrifying read in your case.

    Hello friends,
Just for my information I would like to know, If i could go back to my home country on an exit re-entry visa with an unpaid STC bill and an unpaid car installment (just one month due).
As I am in a tight financial position right now, i will pay the dues after I return from my vacation

    Dears,

I would like to know few queries as below and i will be much appreciated for your responses.

I left KSA on exit-reentry 4 months back and i didn’t came back due to personal problems. I left KSA having credit card debts from NCB 12000 SAR and Alawwal is about 5000 SAR and 10k personal loan from Samba. I use to pay every month without any delay for 2 years almost but unfortunately i got stuck in my home country and didn’t able to clear the debts because of jobless. Now i am planning to go UAE for job and i want to know that having debts in KSA will effect my visa rejection in Dubai or else even though if i go Dubai will immigration authorities will arrest me? I want to know in general for what range of amount debts will be considered to file a police complaint. If i have have unpaid loan in KSA and will it effects if i go to Dubai? I am planning to get a job in Dubai and want to repay all my debts to avoid any kind of police cases on me. Please let me know your views on my situation and i’ll very thankful to all of you..

  • Bilal

    Hi Steve,
I need urgent advice. I have exported my car from Saudi to UAE, in the Absher it says “Exported abroad” however, when my company tries to issue final exit for me it says i still own a car. The police station says that i have to give them a proof that the car isnt in saudi. I have shown them my car registration from UAE but they say its a document from UAE they need something from here. Do you have any idea what can i do?

  • You must have some documentation issued by Saudi Ministries to export the car. Why don’t you show them that documentation?

  • Ding Darda

    you had beend etained?

  • pavel novotny

She will face a problem. She will immediately thrown into jail if the undue payment is that long. If she successfully exited Saudi, she still cannot escape the problem as all bank have hired a third party agency who will try to track all those who have bank debt and if not settled, she face severe punishment. Try to settle it by paying it or if you have a property back home try to sell it, ask relatives to send the money to you here in Saudi and pay the loan.

  • pavel novotny

You really need to permanently disconnect it because it will still consume the minimum payment bills even without using. It will be a problem if you leave it without cancelling as it will continue to charge in minimum balance monthly. Imagine if it will go into a year without paying it because you are no longer in the Kingdom. Please disconnect it.

  • pavel novotny

All GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council Countries are now link into one system). Most of the people who have bank loan in UAE and work in Saudi are still being trace nowadays and if they landed in UAE airport even as a stop over only, they are facing problem and thrown into jail. The same scenario also if you have bank loan in Saudi and planning to go to UAE. Vice versa. Settle your loan first before thinking of coming back to GCC Countries which includes Saudi, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar.

  • pavel novotny

Exit Re Entry visa will be issued to you even if you have unpaid dues. If you intend not to come back then that would be a great problem to you in the future if you want to go back in KSA.

  • pavel novotny

Only the bank company where you brought the car the answer your question. why you did not question them on that matter? But as far as my knowledge is concern it was already included the 5 months pending dues.

  • Mohammed Ali

Will it be a problem even if I come on a Hajj or umrah visa?
I’ve heard that they create problem for u only if you have a huge personal loan.

  • pavel novotny

They will not harass you but they will file legal action towards you that you might land in jail. I think that’s the appropriate words to use not unless if you settle your delinquencies to the bank..

  • pavel novotny

If you will not paid it, the interest rate of your loan will triple or quadruple. It will be more problem to you and if the bank will file a case towards you which is really the actual situation. You will land behind bars. Please settle your balance to avoid future problem. Imagine you loan interest now is still counting so be mindful. Most bank have third party agency who will trace the debtor and file them legal cases.

  • pavel novotny

Try to contact the bank and inform them your situation. Look for a new job and paid you balances.

  • pavel novotny

Oh My Goodness most comment here are not true. You did not experience that even if you are not using your internet for the whole month, There is still Bill given to your account? It is in the Terms and Conditions of STC subscription. You really need to disconnect your STC because even without using it. It will still charge the minimum bill on your account. Imagine if it will accumulate from all the months you are outside the Kingdom. It will increase and give you a headache later on.

  • pavel novotny

Have you been already in Saudi and you leave the Kingdom with Exit-Re Entry and never return back? If Yes, Then you cannot return back into the Kingdom for 5 years even if you come for Umrah or Hajj. You are ban to enter the Kingdom for 5 years for whatever reason of your coming back either Business, Visit or Umrah. You are ban and denied visa since the Kingdom is now electronically systematized. But if you leave the Kingdom before with proper Exit paper and not Exit Re-Entry, then you are fine to come back.

    Dear HR Guru,

I left ksa on exit rentry to India and came to UAE on visit visa and got a new job. Where my visa status changed to work permit and now my passport is under the process of visa stamping. I would like to know is there any problem in visa stamping in UAE immigration as i left ksa on exit reentry? Will it creates any problem in getting visa stamped on my passport in UAE?

Requesting you to answer my query ASAP and i’m really thankfull to you.

    Regards
    -S

  • pavel novotny

Since your issue is just a matter of exit-re entry the answer is NO. There is no problem in visa stamping in your passport as it is in different country although part of GCC but they are not connected with each other when it comes to ministry of manpower but you are ban to enter Saudi Arabia for 5 years as per new rule. you can get work in Qatar, Oman, UAE, Bahrain and Kuwait even if you have exit re entry.

    HI Steve:

I would like to know few queries as I am leaving soon for a final exit in Saudi Arabia.

I am scheduled leaving next month (December 2017) for a final exit and my case are: I have a credit card debts from SABB SR16,000, Alawwal SR16,000, SAMBA SR16,000 and Fransi Bank SR16,000.

Would it be possible for me having a problem from the airport immigration prior to my departure?

Appreciate your immediate response in this regards,

    Thanks

    Hi Steve
My friend’s husband was terminated from his job in ksa.He took loan of 1 lac 10000,was paying continuous installments till one year. Then immediately after termination of job from ksa he got job offer in uae.The people who gave job at uae were pressuring him to reach on time .Dye to system default he couldn’t get himself transferred on his wife’s iqama so he had to exit so that he didn’t miss the uae job opportunity and continue paying his remaining loan installments from uae .But now the recovery people from Alrajhi bank are calling and harassing saying after non payment of three continuous installments the case is forwarded to the court and he will be blacklisted and put in the defaulter list even after clearing the loan
My friend’s husband contacted the person in the bank who issued the loan to request for early settlement and clearance certificate so that he’s not blacklisted and not considered fraud.Because he had to leave immediately after his job termination because he had to join new job in uae and he wasn’t able to get his iqama transferred. Now he wants to pay the entire Loan amount and get the account closed and have clearance certificate issued so that in future there is no problem in coming to ksa for umra/hajj or new job.His wife is still employed in ksa so his wife will go and make the entire payment on his behalf .Will the bank authorities or police or immigration create any problems for his wife in her travel or anything or not let her wife leave kingdom till issue of husband’s loan is settled or they would charge some penalty and issue clearance certificate. He’s scared if the bank authorities contact his job place in uae it might cost him his new job .So the decision to contact the bank for rescheduling the loan installments is correct and it won’t affect his new job in uae ..his wife going to bank personally and settle all the amount but people scaring saying even if all amount is cleared they don’t issue the clearance certificate even though loan is insured and his administration not that nice to help in this matter ..
