A gay influencer arrested over shirtless selfie

Suhail Al Jameel a popular gay influencer with more than 140,000 followers on Twitter alone was arrested in Saudi Arabia. His detainment came after he posted his shirtless selfie.

Suhail Al Jameel posted his selfie wearing leopard print shorts on the beach. He was detained and charged with sharing nude photos online.

He also said that there are chances that he could face up to 3 years of imprisonment for posting his picture that is considered to be nudity under Saudi Arabian law.

Saudi Arabia has also introduced the Public decency law intending to crack down on expressions of Western values and Sohail was detained in the violation of this law.

On social media, criticized him for his doing such acts despite knowing the Kingdom’s laws and violating them.
