5 Saudis arrested for wearing women clothes

Cross-dressing or men wearing women’s clothes is against public morals in Saudi Arabia. Therefore, men cannot dress like women and vice versa.

The Saudi government does not allow its citizens to crossdress or become transgender. Such an act is treated as a crime and the sanctions are the same as that of homosexuality which includes fines, term of imprisonment, and deportation of expats involved.

In this regard, Saudi police have arrested 5 Saudi men for dressing like women. The men dressed as women had been witnessed walking on the Northern Borders province, bordering Iraq and Jordan.

They took pictures of themselves and made a video which they also posted on social media.

According to the Northern Border police, the men had been inconsistent with society’s public morals.
