3 CID officers arrested for SR 4.9 million fraud with expats

3 Criminal Investigation Department’s (CID) employees have been arrested after they were found guilty of stealing SR 4.9 million from two expats.

The Nazaha or the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority detailed that 3 employees of the CID stopped two expats who hold Arab nationality and stole SR4.9 million from them.

The Nazaha and the Ministry of Interior were able to successfully launch a joint investigation, searched the suspects’ residents and vehicles. A resident has also been arrested as he could not prove his sources of funds. The investigation has also found an additional SR 3.44 million.

The citizen has launched a report against the non-commissioned officer working in the anti-narcotics department in one of the governorates. The official had been demanding SR 1 million for keeping the fake money laundering case pending before the Public Prosecution.
