22 Saudis Jailed for preventing Imam from Friday Khutbah

On the blessed day of Friday, a strange incident took place where 22 Saudis stopped the Imam and the preacher of the local mosque from entering the mosque and giving the sermon.

They had consciously closed the door of the mosque and prevented the Imam from heading to the pulpit to offer the prayers and give the sermon. There had been witnesses and video evidence against these criminals.

The criminals themselves had stated that they were involved in such an act as they did not want the imam to lead the Friday prayers.

The criminal court in Taif had sentenced 19 out of these 22 criminals to a month-long imprisonment and charges SR 2,000 per person. The rest 3 shall serve 10 days in imprisonment.
