Considering the situation, the government of Saudi Arabia decided to launch different professional bodies for different fields of workers who would verify their credentials and register them as a member. The membership to those professional bodies with a degree is required to renew Iqama in Saudi Arabia. Now, we are going to share with you the list of professions that need a degree for iqama renewal.

Saudi Commission for Health Specialties
There are 310 medical professions that need to register with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties through their Mumaris Plus portal for iqama renewal. These professions include doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and all other medical professions. Saudi Engineering Council
Every engineer and technicians need to register with the Saudi Engineering Council to get their iqama issued and for the purpose of renewal. There are 42 engineering and 136 technician professions that need to be registered with the SCE with a degree to renew their iqama.

Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountants
All the accountants, auditors and people working in the financial field have to get registered with the Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountants to renew their iqama.
A newcomer with accounts or finance profession cannot get his iqama until he registers himself with a valid degree through the SOCPA portal. We have given a list of 19 professions that need SOCPA membership and a valid degree to renew their Iqama in Saudi Arabia.
Currently, there are only 3 professional bodies that require registration of expats to work in Saudi Arabia. However, it is expected to increase in the future as the Saudi government is working on plans to regulate more sectors for better control and improved Saudization level.
