Instead of paying him petrol bill worth SR 65, he killed Pakistani Expat

A very tragic and a sad incident happened in Saudi Arabia, Eastern Province.  A 26-year-old young Pakistani Mohammad Shamrez who hailed from Gujarat district in Pakistan came to Saudi Arabia to earn some money and support his family but an unfortunate incident put an end to his hardworking life.

Shamrez worked as an attendant at a fuel station in Abqaiq Governorate in Eastern Province. He was loyal and hardworking in his work. It was reported that he lost his life while chasing some motorists who refused to pay the gas bill of SR65 after getting gas filled in their vehicle.

Shamrez asked for money from the motorists, a 17-year-old Saudi and his friends including a GCC national.

According to the police spokesperson in the Eastern province, Col. Ziad AL-Riqati, the worker, Shamrez climbed at the backside of their car when they tried to rush their vehicle without paying the bill and during the struggle and high speed of the car, he fell from the car and got severely injured.

However, the cruel motorist tried sped away with the car but police were able to arrest them and referred them to the authorities and Shamrez was immediately moved to the hospital in Dammam.

Police reported that all the arrested motorists have been referred to the public prosecution except one who is 17 years old, he was sent to the Juvenile home.

Mohammad Niaz Munishi, Pakistani community volunteer said Shamrez suffered serious injuries to his head and was later declared brain dead after he failed to respond to the treatment.  On Thursday he succumbed himself to his injuries.

Niaz Munishi is trying to help the bereaved family of Shamrez. His family came forward and demanded to donate some of his organs to give someone a new hope of life in the Kingdom. His dead body is kept at the hospital in Dammam to complete legal formalities by the officials, said by Niaz Munishi.

This was a heartbreaking incident, in our hustle and bustle and laughter moments we totally forget about others and sometimes we hurt them unintentionally.

Same happened in this case, unintentionally they killed a supporter of the family who traveled far away from his home only to earn some money for his family but the rude behavior of the motorists has deprived the family of their loved one.

However, these type of incidents happened routinely. Many attendants have to face various rude behavior of some customer and many young boys get their vehicles filled with fuel and run away without paying any bill which causes most gas attendants to suffer trauma and stress each day.

I must say that authorities must study and look in this case to prevent any further mishap and parents should also guide their children about right and wrong.
