1-Masjid-e-Qiblatain is recognized as the mosque with the two Qiblas. This mosque is located in Madina and is important to Muslims because when a Sahabi reached the Masjid with an order to change the Qibla Direction, the Imam was leading the prayer, he delivered the order in a loud voice so that Imam could hear this.
2-The Imam who was facing Masjid-al-Aqsa that time walked to the back of the rows of people who were performing Salah behind him, all of them turned around and the remaining Salah was performed facing the Masjid-al-Haram[irp]
3-This mosque had two mihrabs. One facing the Makkah and the other which is older one faced towards Jerusalem. Later on, this mosque was modified and the old mihrab which was facing Jerusalem was covered. Now the mosque has only one mihrab which is facing towards Makkah.
4-The mosque is located on the north-west side of Madina and the road is known as Khalid bin Waleed road.
5-This mosque is among the three earliest mosques in the Islamic history along with Masjid-e-Quba and Masjid al Nabawi. The Mosque now has a very beautiful white building and many people visit this mosque who visit Madina.
6-When this event of a change in the direction of Qibla occurred, Muslims followed the instruction of Allah and teaching of the Prophet (Peace and blessings be on him) and represented themselves as an autonomous religious sector. On the other hand, Jews were not happy.
7-Verse in Surah al-Baqarah explains “We have certainly seen the turning of your face, [O Muhammad], toward the heaven, and We will surely turn you to a qiblah with which you will be pleased. So turn your face toward al-Masjid al-Haram. And wherever you [believers] are, turn your faces toward it [in prayer]. Indeed, those who have been given the Scripture well know that it is the truth of their Lord. And Allah is not unaware of what they do.” – Quran 2:144
8-Some people went to the Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him) and proposed him that if he would change the direction towards Jerusalem again, then only they would accept Islam. Allah revealed in Quran about them.
“And if you brought to those who were given the Scripture every sign, they would not follow your qiblah. Nor will you be a follower of their qiblah. Nor would they be followers of one another's qiblah. So if you were to follow their desires after what has come to you of knowledge, indeed, you would then be among the wrongdoers.” – Quran 2:145
9-The Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings be upon him) prayed towards Jerusalem for 16 months in Madina with a hope that it would be changed to Holy Kaaba.
