8 things which made Prophet Muhammad angry in his life

The life of Prophet Muhammad S.A.W is a complete code of conduct for every Muslim. We always strive to follow his Sunnah and try to do whatever he has liked in his life. It is as much important to abstain from doing what he didn’t like in his life. Here we are presenting many instances which made him angry.

1-The love for Hazrat Fatima az Zahra: Hazrat Muhammad S.A.W used to love his daughter Hazrat Fatima R.A. There is a hadith in Sahi Bukhari where he has stated that “Fatima is a part of me, and he who makes her angry, makes me angry.” – Sahih al-Bukhari 3714

2-The garments dyed with safflower: It was narrated from ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr that: He came to the Prophet [SAW] wearing two garments dyed with safflower. The Prophet [SAW] got angry and said: “Go and take them off.” He said: “Where should I throw them, O Messenger of Allah?” He said: “In the fire.” – Sunan an-Nasa'i 5317

3-Men wearing Silk:  Ali said: A robe containing silk was presented to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). He then sent it to me. I wore it and came to him. I saw him looking angry in his face. He then said: I did not send it to you to wear. He ordered me and I divided it among my women.Sunan Abi Dawud 4043

4-Blaming Prophet S.A.W for not being Just:  Narrated `Abdullah: Once the Prophet (ﷺ) distributed something (among his followers. A man said, “This distribution has not been done (with justice) seeking Allah's Countenance.” I went to the Prophet (ﷺ) and told him (of that). He became so angry that I saw the signs of anger on his face.  – Sahih al-Bukhari 3405

5-The Command to The Imam to Make the Prayer Brief but Complete:  Abu Mas'ud ‘Uqbah bin ‘Amr Al-Badri (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: A man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: “I join the morning Salat late because of so-and-so who leads it and prolongs it.”

(Abu Mas'ud said): I have never seen the Prophet (ﷺ) so angry while giving a speech as he was on that day. He (ﷺ) said, “Some of you create hatred among the people against faith. Whoever leads Salat (the prayer), should make it brief because the congregation includes old men and youngsters and those who have some urgent work to do.” – Sahih Muslim 466

6-Asking Useless questions: Narrated Abu Musa Al-Ash`ari: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was asked about things which he disliked, and when the people asked too many questions, he became angry –  Sahih al-Bukhari 7291

7-Prophet Muhammad is the most fearful of Allah:  Narrated ‘Aishah, wife of Prophet (ﷺ): A man said to Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) you are not like us; Allah has forgiven you your past and future sins. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) became angry and said: I swear by Allah, I hope I shall be the most fearful of you of Allah, and most familiar of you with what I follow.Sunan Abi Dawud 2389

8-Not keeping the Masjid clean: It was narrated by Anas that: The Prophet saw some sputum in the prayer direction of the mosque and he became so angry that his face turned red. Then a woman from among the Ansar came and scraped it off, and put some Khaluq on that spot. The Messenger of Allah said: “How good this is.” –  Sunan Ibn Majah 762
