A woman who had been angry at her techie husband for the act of checking her mobile phone has allegedly slashed his fingers with the help of a kitchen knife. This incident took place in the IT capital of India recently. Both the wife and husband have lodged contradicting complaints against one other. The police had summoned the parents of the couple in order to arrange a patch up.[irp]
It had happened on the 4th of May at their apartment located in Kaikondanahalli near the HSR Layout, a locality which is preferred by those professionals in Bengaluru working in the I.T. sector. However, the incident only came to light once the victim went to the police in order to seek protection from his wife. Chandraprakash Singh and Sunita Singh from Bihar had been happily (seemingly) married for the past seven years. They had recently moved to the city around 3 years ago and were both employed at different I.T. firms. Recently Sunitha quit her job and took a break.
What Happened? In accordance to the complaint which had been lodged by Mr. Chandraprakash, his wife had been addicted to her mobile phone, which had naturally led to several arguments between them. The husband stated that when he returned home on the 4th of May late at night around 11 P.M. he found that the dinner had not been prepared.
When he asked for the dinner, the wife told him that she had ordered food and it would be arriving at any second. However, the entire time she had been reportedly busy with her phone and then the husband allegedly abused her for it. This subsequently led to a war of words and the husband snatched her phone and started checking her messages. Sunitha fought back to reclaim her phone which resulted in an all-out fist fight.
This made Sunitha extremely angry and she proceeded to the kitchen where her husband had allegedly slapped her. Sunitha then came out of the kitchen with a kitchen knife and proceeded to attack her husband, slashing his fingers in the process, which leads to deep injuries. The husband then dropped the phone on the ground and immediately ran out of their apartment. He immediately headed for the nearest hospital and had been treated for his injuries.
The probe by the police: There had been several marks of injury found on the fingers on the right hand of the husband. The police have registered a formal case and a complete probe of the case is currently underway. Both the wife and the husband have had complaints lodged against each other and the authorities are questioning them about the incident which had occurred.[irp]
The husband had stated that he fears for his life and demanded round the clock protection from his wife. The police haven’t decided on giving him protection as it is a domestic dispute case. However, the parents have been called in order to determine if the incident can be resolved civilly.
