Our passport details are updated in the system of Ministry of Interior. You can check the details of your current passport from this link “Check Passport Details from MOI System”. In case you or any of your dependent renew passport or change it due to some other reasons, it needs to be updated in the system of Ministry of Interior. The rule is that the sponsor visits the Jawazat office along with old and new passport. If your dependent has renewed passport, you will have to visit Jawazat office. If you have renewed your passport, government relations officer of your company will have to do it. I have explained the procedure you need to adopt for the transfer of information (Naqal Maloomat) in this link “Procedure of (Transfer of Information) Naqal Maloomat of Passport”.[irp]
There is another possibility, you or any of your dependent went to the home country, renewed his/her passport and now wants to come back to Saudi Arabia. Will he be able to enter to Saudi Arabia? What are the requirements or processes he will have to go through? Well, the answer is Simple “Yes”. An Iqama holder who renews his passport in home country can enter to Saudi Arabia on a new passport without any trouble. The immigration officer may ask him to show his previous passport which he should carry along with him. the Immigration officer will even stamp new passport for the arrival stamp. So, there will be no problem for the iqama holder who renews his passport in the home country.
However, once he is in Saudi Arabia, he will have to go through the process of Transfer of Information or Naqal Maloomat. I have explained the procedure you need to adopt for the transfer of information (Naqal Maloomat) in this link “Procedure of (Transfer of Information) Naqal Maloomat of Passport”. Keep in mind, you can enter to Saudi Arabia on new passport but you cannot leave Saudi Arabia on the new passport if it is not updated in the Ministry of Interior System. [irp]
It is also better if you update this information well in time like one week before your departure date. Let’s say if you want to travel tomorrow and your sponsor goes to the Jawazat today and he finds that the system is down. You may have to lose your tomorrow’s flight.
