On Arrival Visit Visa of GCC countries for Family Visit Visa Holders in Saudi Arabia

All of us know that the residents of Saudi Arabia have the liberty to enjoy the on arrival visit visa of any GCC country.  GCC countries are Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. Residents of no other country enjoy this privilege since Saudi Arabia does not give on arrival visa to all the residents of GCC countries. Only GCC citizens can get on arrival access to Saudi Arabia. There are some requirements which need to be filled at the time when you are going to a country and we have covered them in detail in separate articles. You can read them in the related articles tab at the end of the article. So, residents of Saudi Arabia can get on arrival visa of GCC countries but what about the people who have come to Saudi Arabia on family visit visa? We have covered it later in this article.

On Arrival Visit Visa of GCC Countries for Dependents of Employees: All working Iqama holders can get on arrival visit visa of the GCC countries if that country issues visas to the profession of which he belongs. The dependents of such iqama holders can also get on arrival visit visa if they enter the respective GCC country along with him. Let’s take an example of the doctor whose family is a resident of Saudi Arabia. Wife and children and housemaid of a doctor can get on arrival visit visa of Dubai if they enter to the Kingdom along with Doctor. Now a question arises, what about those who have been brought here in Saudi Arabia by the doctor on family visit visa? Can they also get on arrival visit visa of GCC countries if they travel with the doctor?

On Arrival Visit Visa of GCC countries for Family Visit Visa Holders in KSA: Family visit visa holders of Saudi Arabia cannot get on arrival visit visa of GCC countries even if they travel along with the applicant of their visa who is Iqama holder. The provision of on arrival visa is only given to those people who are residents of Saudi Arabia (Iqama Holders). Family visit visa holders are not residents of Saudi Arabia so there is no question of granting them on arrival visit visa of GCC countries. However, there is an important point which I want you to consider.

Important consideration: As I have already mentioned above that on arrival visit visa of GCC countries is only available to the Iqama holders and family visit visa holders of Saudi Arabia would not be able to get this visa. If someone wants to take this risk of getting on arrival visa, keep in mind that Family Visit Visa of Saudi Arabia is only single entry visa. So, once family visit visa holder leaves the Kingdom, he will not be able to enter back to the Kingdom on the same visa.

  • abdulrazzaq

Mr steve can i am abel to transfer my car ownership in case i already received final exit please reply me as soon as possible please

  • Axad Khan

    Hi Steve,
FIrst of all i really appreciate your hard work. i always check your website regarding issues in KSA.
Please find the procedure/process to get Jordon VIsa.

Jordon Visa by road is FREE for ALL countries. They DONOT check/require iqama.

I went to Jordon through Al Haql by my own car. when you reach the border there is a petrol pump just 2 mins before the border. Make sure you fill your car from there. Petrol in Jordon is 3 times Expensive thn KSA.
Just before Saudi border you can see Jordon taxis taking your to Jordon. You can hop in to them to use your own car.
After exiting Saudi Border/Stamping Exit, go to Jordon side. Just give your passport and in 2 mins they will give you the passport with Jordon Visa. Then go to Jordon Immigration and they will stamp Entry. There is No Visa Fee.
Once Entry is done on the right side There is Currency exchange. exchange the cash 6 SAR = 1 JD.

If you are planning to take your car to JD. Next to exchange is Car insurance. You can pay 33 JDs to get car insurance for 1 month. Then you go to custom and they will take additional 20 JDs as road tax.

Then you are good to go. Aqaba is the best place which is 30 Km away from saudi border. Next is Petra which is 150 KM away. Petra Tourism ticket is around 100 JDs. around 100 KM from PETRA is the capital AMMAN. dead sea is next to AMMAN.

Once tour in Jordon is finished, Come back to the same border. Pay exit Tax fee of JD 10 per person and emigration will stamp eit on your passport. Then go to saudi side. They will scan your car. Once scanning is done they will give you paper. take paper to Immigration and they will stamp entry on your passport.

  • I really appreciate it, brother. It will help thousands of expatriates who want to travel to Jordan. Thanks again!

    Hi Shahbaz.
I went to Jordon Twice. Once in Sep and again in Dec/Jan17. Both time i got Visa on arrival at the border.

However the 2nd time they were a bit reluctant to give visa. Probably because of yearend and there was a bomb blast just 1 week before.

Anyway. Just try your luck. If you get it please share your experience with us.

  • Axad Khan

    Did you get your visa?

Car insurance is available after saudi exit. costs around 160 – 180 for a month. Visa is Free. for car you may have to pay 50 or 60 border charges. Entry and exit from same border isnt a must. If you can visit Aqabah. thats near Haql side.
Have fun n share your experience. will save us 13 hours of time.:)

  • Axad Khan

nope… but when you do… please come and comment here. it will help other ppl. 🙂

  • Hussain

Shahbaz.. you went Jordan after this?
When did you travel and did you get the visa on arrival?

  • Hussain

Ok, but when you went did you face any problem at Jordanian border?

Do you have any contact number of Jordanian embassy/consulate to reconfirm?

Can you please share your number, I would like to talk to you. Thanks

  • shahbaz

Hussain…i went through al Quryiat border…got the visa on arrival but not very easily…initially they refused but after lot of request and showing my all hotels confirmed bookings they started process…they took copy of me and my family all documents like Iqama , office work pass, copy of multiple visa, passport, confirmed bookings of all hotels and 40 jod per head visa fee…i suggest to get visa from embassy prior departure..

  • Axad Khan

No prob at the border both time.
i didnt contact jordon embassy. i jsut took my car n drove.
my no. is 055-4199782. please message on whatsapp.

  • Hussain

Sounds good.. and just to double check you had Pakistani passport? And what was the iqama title and would that matter?

  • Axad Khan

    Already explained above.
    Pakistani Passport. Cost Accountant iqama.

  • Hussain

Ahan.. what’s office work pass? May be they let you go as you were with family. I have already planned to travel with my friend today.. hav no idea if they will let us go. Applying thru jordan embassy will take 1-2 weeks i think

  • Hussain

Good.. i have same title.. let me give it a try.. as I live in Yanbu it would be around 5-6 hours drive up to border. Thanks a lot Asad for your support. I may contact you in case i need any further information.

My case would be slightly different than yours, actually my car has Kuwait license plates, as I keep visiting Kuwait. Have both Saudi and Kuwait Iqama, don’t know if that would be a plus point or negative 🙂

  • Hussain

I just checked Yanbu on your profile.. are you still living here?

  • shahbaz

Work card is like entry pass to enter office..yes…family may be the reason of getting visa.. I also confirmed from embassy they said it will take 2 to 4 weeks…time was less so I also took the risk…..i hope u will also get the visa…best of luck…

  • Axad Khan

I shiftd to jubail a few months back.
Kuwait car no. doesnt matter to Jordon. Jordon will not create any issue.
It matters to saudi as they need to put exit and issue is mainly when the car is in name of bank.

The journey isnt 5 – 6 hours. Its 8 – 10 Hours. unless you drive at 180KM/h. Roads are really good.
You are going to love the landscape and scenery. amazing mountains. I just went to dubai last week. The journey sucked big time with only dessert scenery
While crossing Umluj you will see a petrol pump on your left side. It will have pakistani hotel board on the main road written in arabic/urdu. Try their chicken karahi and daal. Its awesum. I used to go from Yanbu just for that chicken karahi.

Jordon – Go to Aqaba take their boat ride. Its awesum.
Go to Petra heritage sites but it might be hot in there.

Also is there any way i can visit kuwait on my saudi iqama pakistani national passport?

  • Axad Khan

    Hi HUssain. Did you go?
    Did they create any prob.?
Please share your experience to help others?
