Rules for Extension of Family Visit Visa through Istiqdam
If visit visa is stamped for 30 days, it can be extended 5 more times. It means total stay in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will be of 180 days in this case.
If visit visa is initially issued for 90 days, it can be extended 1 more time. It means total stay in Saudi Arabia will be of 180 days.
Process to Apply for Extension of Family Visit Visa through Istiqdam
You can apply for an extension of family visit visa only one week before the expiry of visit visa. If you will apply for it before a week, they will not honor your request. I don’t know if it is a rule but general practice in Jawazat office. Following Documents are required for family visit visa extension in Saudi Arabia.
Original Passport of Visitors (Copy of Passport Front, Back and Visa Page must be accompanied)
Original Iqama of the Kafeel along with Copy (It means your Iqama if you are sponsor of visit visa)

Online Token for residents of Dammam and Riyadh
It is better to go to Jawazat office at around 9 am. It remains very crowded in early timings. You will find a lot of people sitting in front of Jawazat office along with their computers. You can go to them and ask them to fill all necessary requirements. They will take all the documents and fill the form for you. If you have not paid SR 100 for the extension of a visit visa, they can pay it on your behalf. In aggregate they will charge around SR 20, 30 and will guide you about the remaining process. He will guide you to the location where you need to go to grab the token. You will be in the queue once you have a token in your hand.
Once your turn comes, the officer will check all your documents and if everything goes fine, you will be issued an extension of visa. Check the expiry date of visit visa and see if it is final extension. Keep in mind that you cannot process extension of visa again if it is final extension.

Do Not OVERSTAY: It is very important to mention here that expat living in Saudi Arabia on Iqama takes the responsibility of the family members entering the Kingdom. In the case of Overstay of any family member, even if the stay is of a single day, SR 25,000/- fine is imposed on the expatriate with Iqama.
