How to Search for a Job in Saudi Arabia?

When you have entered to Saudi Arabia and purchased your registered SIM card, next step is to search for a job in Saudi Arabia. Please be informed that this article is only providing guidance to the people who are living in Saudi Arabia. We have written another article for the people who want to search for jobs in Saudi Arabia from their native countries. This is a bit difficult task to do which involves a lot of luck irrespective of where do you search it. However, with the set of instructions given below, you can improve your chances of getting the desired job.

Build a Professional CV: Your CV could be a difference between getting an interview call and ultimately secure a job. If you are facing the dilemma of not receiving good response despite applying to several organizations, then there must be something lacking in your CV. Gold looks beautiful when it is presented under lights and glowing showcase. A professionally built CV would ultimately result in more interview calls. CV would be made attractive inducing the reader to spend time on it. Managers are too busy nowadays; they do not have time to go through your full CV. You have to attract and induce them to do so. If you need more guidance regarding building your CV, we have written some articles about this which may be of your assistance.

Contact with your References to find job in Saudi Arabia: After building your professional CV, next step is to distribute this CV to as many appropriate places as possible. The best way to search job in Saudi Arabia is to use references. If you have strong contacts in Saudi Arabia, you can get a good job. In this regard, I want to bring in your attention the procedure I adopted. I had only 2,3 contacts in Saudi Arabia which are not enough obviously for hunting job. So, I sent messages to all my contacts when I was in my native country to help me with some references. I sent messages on Facebook, emails and everywhere. As a result of which I got some good contact list related to my professional field. After this, I contacted each and every number and email address I received from my friends in Pakistan. I called them, sent my profile, and requested them to check some opportunity for me. This is the best way to secure a good job because in this way your friend would be forwarding your CV with some personal reference. I got my first and second job through this way.

Advertisement in News Paper: Well, this is perhaps oldest and traditional way to search for jobs in Saudi Arabia. If you are a professionally qualified person, you should be looking for advertisements in the newspapers like Arab News and Saudi Gazette. If you are searching for some labor type or driver’s job, you should be looking for the local newspapers like Urdu News and some other newspapers with your language. The reason is that career oriented jobs are not published in local newspapers so there is no benefit of reading it if you are a professionally qualified person searching for a job in Saudi Arabia. Similarly, response to driver and labor type jobs is too much in national newspapers. So, even if someone applies, there are very minimal chances of being selected. But if you would apply through the local newspapers, the response would be better.

Personal Visits: This is the way to search for a job in Saudi Arabia with highest response rate. If you send an email to 150 companies, maybe 1 will get back to you. But if you would go to the head office of any company yourself, there are many chances of being interviewed and selected. However, there is one back draw of this procedure that you get a low-level job with a salary of 6,000 SAR or less in this way. If you want to get a better job, this procedure is not suggested. What you need to do to search for a job in Saudi Arabia is to select an area where there are many offices of the companies and take numerous prints of your professionally built CV. Now, present yourself in the reception and ask for permission to meet with someone related to HR. When you are meeting with HR, try to convince him to let you introduce with the guy who has the final selection authority in your case. But don’t force them and end up a meeting with good gestures. They will take your CV and will consider you for any potential opening. Now, this company is done, you need to go to the second company and perform the same procedure. One more thing which you should keep in mind while searching for a job in Saudi Arabia through this procedure that people look more at your personality than your knowledge. You should be well dressed to inspire them. I wish you best of luck for your job hunting.

Apply on the Internet for job in Saudi Arabia: Numbers of references you have are obviously limited. You will contact all of them in one or maximum two days. You cannot just rely on your contacts and waste your time. What you should do in the meanwhile is to search for some jobs on internet. If you would search on Google, it will give you an infinite number of job websites to search jobs in Saudi Arabia. Well, I personally would not suggest you waste your time there. There is only one website in Saudi Arabia which can get you a low-level job which is on a monthly package of less than 6,000/- SAR. Name of the website is expatriates.com and it is very famous here in Saudi Arabia. What you need to do is to look for the jobs on this website and apply through emails or making calls. Other websites like Bayt.com has too many openings for jobs, but when you apply for a job, it gives you answer that may be you are the 25,025th person who is applying for this job. So, I don’t recommend you to go for it.

  • There is another way of applying through this website. You should frequently visit Bayt.com and other important websites like Gulf Talent. What you need to do is to search for a job related to your field from that website but don’t apply from there. You need to search the name of the organization where this opening is, go to its website. From the website, you should search for some contact information of the HR or any person related to you. For example, if you are searching for a finance-related job, email of CFO can be equally useful for you as the email of HR. In this way, at least you have a satisfaction that your email has been delivered to the right person.
  • Third and least responded way is to find Top 100 companies in Saudi Arabia. We have provided the list of Top 100 Companies of Saudi Arabia on our website. What you need to do is to search the name of the company on the internet which will ultimately give you domain of their website. After this, search for the tabs like “Careers” or “Contact Us” to apply for current or any potential opening in the company. In this way, most of the companies will save your CV in their database. In the case of any potential opening, you would be considered. If you are lucky, you can get a good chance to secure job. However, in order to be lucky, you must have to send them your email. If you don’t send them your profile through email, you cannot be that lucky guy.
